Manufacturer of sports cars, McLaren was preparing secretly the birth of a new sports car that would become the successor of the legendary McLaren F1. This car will reportedly only produce 500 units.

According to plan, McLaren will take in next 2014 and will only produce 500 units. The car is given the nickname with ‘Mega Mac’.

As quotes from Autocar, Monday (05/16/2011), Mega Mac will be made larger, more functional but more vivid when compared to the MP4-12C.

The core of this new car will be stuffed by a powerful V8 engine 799 bhp at 7500 rpm and peak torque reach 590 lb-ft.

With such power, 5.0 liter capacity engine is also able to bring a Mega Mac to run speed of 100 km per hour in just 2.8 seconds, a little difference with the ability of Bugatti Veyron which is currently the fastest car in the world.

But with an estimated price only 350,000 pounds to 400,000 pounds, this McLaren’s latest sports car will surely be a formidable opponent, because the price is relatively cheap when compared with the price Bugatti Veyron which is released with 1.4 million to 1.6 million pounds.

Racing world often become a studying arena of a number of car manufacturers to make fast cars. But for a team of Formula One (F1) Red Bull, F1 is not enough. They also made a breakthrough by creating a prototype car that can go faster than a racing car which competed in F1.
