Porsche SUV prepare Cajun variants, named Porsche Macan. Porsche Macan is deliberately taken Porsche to refer animals of tigers in Indonesia known as Macan. Porsche Macan describes powerful SUV, stylish and dynamic.

“Macan is a combination of all characteristics of a sports car wrapped in SUV developed by Porsche. The name choice of Macan provides benefits for the brand, and sounded very good in all languages or dialects that have a positive effect,” said Bernhard Maier, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG.

Some comments said that the Porsche Macan is slightly shifted from the identity of the real Porsche sports car. But, Macan is still incest with Cayenne, and Cayenne is one of the Porsche variant with highest selling.

Macan itself will begin production in Leipzig next year. Porsche had hoped from this new model by investing 500 million euros, in order to expand the plant and will increase total employment of 1,000 people.

“The names of the Porsche variants have a strong relationship with the model and its characteristics. Boxstera describe the combination of the boxer engine and roadster, Cayenne is the sharpness, Cayman is a sharp and agile, and Panamera is describing GranTourismo, as well as Macan,” said the Porsche press.
