After a long discussion, Maserati finally showed future crossover currently they named Maserati Kubang. Later, Maserati Kubang will share the womb with the popular Jeep Grand Cherokee.

This car was scheduled to be born by Chrysler Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Michigan coupled with the Jeep Grand Cherokee and according to Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne also will prove that Michigan is capable of producing world-class luxury cars. The results of this factory is planned to be distributed to the entire world.

“This is one classic way of debunking the myth that Detroit (and Michigan) is limited in their ability to produce large vehicles,” Marchionne said in Detroit News.

However, because this is a Maserati car, then Marchionne emphasized that the Kubang is “pure Maserati” and will be priced according to the price. “We’re not going to cheapen the car,” he said.

In the automotive market later, the car that was shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit will compete with opponents and predicted to be a best-selling model owned Maserati.

“We want to sell at least 20,000 cars,” said Chief Maserati Harald Wester.

But when in later production, the possibility of this car’s name will change dna will not wear the name Maserati Kubang. Maserati says that they are looking for a name that ‘more Italian’ before this crossover goes into production in 2013.

Maserati says that the machine that will use is a new generation machine that will be design in Modena and will be produced in Maranello which is a place production of Ferrari. Engine power will be transmitted via the 8-speed automatic transmission.
