Toyota continues to be the brand choice of the world’s consumers. The proof, IHS Global Insight research institute named the Toyota Corolla as the best-selling car in the world this year. Despite the decline in sales over last year, this compact sedan remains a market leader with total sales of 1.02 million.
Sales of the Corolla, as written by Forbes magazine, a decrease of two percent compared with the previous year. This happens because in general the Toyota suffered production disruptions due to flood Thailand.
Corollas manufactured in 15 countries and sold in 140 countries. IHS stated this car meets all the criteria required of consumers such as small, inexpensive, fuel efficient, and reliable.
Whereas in the second position is occupied Hyundai Elantra with total sales of 1.01 million units. Elantra managed to shift the dominance of sedan variants of the Honda Civic. Civic sales fell 12.5 percent from last year to 555,071 units and currently the sedan was not in the list of top 10 best-selling cars. (continue reading…)
