French car manufacturer, Peugeot, introduced its newest product 3008 Hybrid4 in the event Geneva Motor Show which is currently underway.

Usually the hybrid engine is a merger between a gasoline engines with an electric motor, but Peugeot make a breakthrough by using a diesel engine.

With it, Peugeot claims their manufacturer is the first who introduced hybrid vehicles in combination with diesel engines.

“With the launch of the world’s first hybrid vehicle that uses diesel, Peugeot presents new offer in terms of environmental efficiency and the sensation of driving,” said the Peugeot in their official statement.

Interestingly, this car will perform not as a display alias concept, which is not known when it will be produced. But will soon make it into production cars later this year.

But for potential buyers, must move quickly because it will only produce 300 units for the entire world.

3008 Hybrid4 can drive with the help of diesel engine capacity of 2,000 cc four-cylinder engine capable of producing power of 165 hp. The diesel engine drives the front wheels.

The machine is combined with 37.5 hp powered electric motor. Motor in charge of drives the rear wheels, so automatic, the car has four-wheel drive system.

For fuel consumption, Peugeot claims Hybrid4 3008 can accommodate as many as 3.8 liters of diesel to travel 100 kilometers.

“Added with the new driving pleasure Hybrid4 3008 is a breakthrough in terms of CO2 emissions by only produce 99 g/km. This emission has decreased 35 percent compared to conventional combustion engines,” said Peugeot.

Peugeot will also open an online booking for 300 cars. But this Hybrid4 3008 will only be available in a choice of color pearlescent white and two color leather-clad interior.
